At Vital Power we run our own fleet of dedicated fuel delivery vehicles to ensure fuel can be supplied to anywhere in the UK at any time, thanks to our strategic UK depot network.
In addition to ensuring your site has enough fuel, it’s also crucial to ensure that the condition of the fuel on site is good enough to reliably run your backup generator sets when they’re called upon. Vital Power offers a comprehensive fuel testing service to properly understand the condition of any fuel onsite, to ensure reliability and check if the long-term health of any engine is significantly affected. Fuel health checks are vital as impurities or issues could compromise your diesel generators’ ability to fully support site load in the event of an emergency.
We have our own fuel polishing equipment and offer a full suite of services to significantly improve the condition of fuel when our testing flags up issues. If fuel is left contaminated for too long then it may need replacing all together, which is another service we offer nationwide.

Generator Refuelling
Obviously, fuel is vital to generators, so generator refuelling services are one of the most essential actions we offer. At Vital Power we can supply you with a small top-up during planned service visits, medium volume deliveries via road-towable fuel bowsers and also large volume supply via dedicated fuel tankers to refill external bulk tanks.
Fuel Quality Testing
Also known as fuel sampling, fuel quality testing is required as diesel (including red diesel) naturally degrades over time. Generator fuel testing services will identify any abnormalities such as water, sludge, particulates or microorganisms. It is important to catch any of these issues early to avoid clogged filters, corroded engine parts and damaged fuel pumps.
Fuel Polishing
If your fuel sampling or fuel quality testing flags up any issues then you will need generator fuel polishing services, also called fuel reconditioning. Through this multi-stage filtration service, fuel additives are used that work in conjunction with the filters and separators to ensure the fuel is particulate-free.
Fuel Tank Cleaning
Generator fuel tank cleaning works alongside the fuel polishing services. The aim of this service is to ensure the new fuel is useable for as long as possible and is stored in the best condition. It is no good putting clean fuel back into a dirty tank, so you should ideally book both of these services together.
