A Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) captures energy from both renewable and non-renewable sources, storing it in rechargeable batteries (storage devices) for future use.

In stand-alone applications, any excess energy you receive from the grid can be stored and used at a later date.
The user is in control of where the power supply is coming from and decides whether to use power from the grid, or your battery storage system. So, for example, when energy prices are high during peak times, you may choose to power your facility through your battery storage system. When prices per kW are at their lowest, you can choose to power your facility through the grid and charge your battery storage system at the same time using any excess energy delivered to your facility.

In this scenario, a facility can integrate their battery storage system with solar panels, or even wind turbines. The excess energy generated from these sources is stored in the battery storage system, which is then used to power your facility.
